Sturgis, MI – The Bordner family was host to the Michigan Angus Field Day, Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Visitors were treated to a Tour of Great Lakes Sire Service in nearby Bronson, MI followed by an educational presentation on Livestock Trailer and Hauling Safety by Ken Geuns. Event sponsor, Jeff Leininger of Merck Animal Health presented an educational program on Vaccination Programs: What Makes Sense.
Angus friends enjoyed a Trailer Inspection Content, Bull Weight Guessing Content, Pitch Fork Fondue Steak Dinner complete with Bull Stud Ice Cream made with liquid nitrogen and great fellowship with Angus friends.
The Bull Weight Guessing Contest was won by Justin Jerz who missed the combined bull weights by only 2 lbs! Awesome job Justin! The yearling bull, Merrett weighed 1390lbs and the mature bull, Fast Break weighed 2380lbs.
Monte and Robin Bordner would like to thank the Angus Breeders and friends who came out for the day, they had a wonderful time hosting this event.
